Andy Bradigan, President of Bradigan’s Inc, was named as a winner of the prestigious 2023 Pittsburgh Smart 50 Award. The award recognizes executives of the 50 smartest companies in the Greater Pittsburgh region for their exceptional leadership and contributions to building successful organizations.

The Pittsburgh Smart 50 Awards highlight business leaders who have demonstrated excellence in innovation, impact, and sustainability. Andy was nominated alongside hundreds of forward-thinking businesspeople from throughout the region. After being evaluated by a team of judges, he was selected as one of Pittsburgh’s top fifty executives.

Andy accepted his award at a luncheon in downtown Pittsburgh last week alongside his wife, Lauren. The award puts him in the company of leaders from organizations including Carnegie Mellon University, Keystone Space Collaborative, and The Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh.

But Andy wants to make it clear that this accomplishment isn’t just about him: “I am very humbled to be an honoree, but I do not wish for this to be an achievement I am receiving alone – my entire organization deserves the credit for this award. Without everything my team, my wife, and my family do, this would not have been possible. This is an award for all of us,” Andy says.

Bradigan’s Inc, nestled in the small town of Kittanning along the Allegheny River, has been a cornerstone of the community since its establishment in 1952. The core business of Bradigan’s Inc is distributing petroleum products including heating oil, kerosene, and gasoline, serving 11 counties around Pittsburgh. The company also manages seven KardGard refueling stations and maintains a fleet of 14 tractors and tankers, ensuring competitive fuel rates and reliable delivery services to its customers. Andy Bradigan took the reins as the owner and president in September of 2022, continuing the legacy of a business deeply rooted in family values.

“As a company, we believe in honesty, dependability, integrity, and empathy,” Andy says. “We pride ourselves on our service. If you provide excellent customer service and treat people like you would want to be treated in return, they will keep coming back.”

After serving the Pittsburgh region for over 70 years, Bradigan’s Inc has a reputation not only for great service, but for caring about its community and its employees. Approximately half of Bradigan’s Inc employees have been with the company for more than a decade. Many have been part of the Bradigan’s family for 20 years or longer, showcasing the company’s ability to retain talent and foster a culture of mentorship and leadership development.

Andy Bradigan is passionate about his work, serving on the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Petroleum Association and working to educate PA citizens about the ever-changing energy and petroleum industries.

In an industry that’s over a century old, the Bradigan’s team is committed to staying at the forefront, demonstrating a commitment to innovation, impact, and sustainability, the pillars of the Smart 50 Award. “We’re always looking forward and striving to be better tomorrow than we were today,” Andy says. “We focus on the task at hand, while always searching for ways to be better at what we do.”
